Our Family

Born and raised on a family farm, Gene Klassen discovered his passion for raising cattle and grain from a very young age. Gene and his wife Eugenia along with their four children started their venture to Ontario in early 2021 with the goal of starting their own farm raising Black Angus, a breed well known for excelling on a forage based diet. That dream became a reality and 9th Line Cattle Co. was created.

Our Farming Practices

Our Black Angus cows are grass-fed on the grasslands and pastures that help to make up the beautiful farming landscape here in Grey County. We are passionate about the land and caring for it, and use regenerative farming methods such as rotational grazing to ensure it's preservation for generations to come.

Our farm practices benefit not only the health of the land in the present, but also ensures it's preservation for the generations to come. Looking after the land in this way, makes it possible for the land to flourish and to provide good quality forage with high nutritional value. In turn it feeds our cattle, giving them what they need to produce the premium beef with full bodied flavours that we want to offer to you.

We guarantee that our beef has no added hormones or steroids, and antibiotics are only administered when medically necessary for our cattle.
